PostSubject: Frozen peas   Thu Jul 24, 2008 9:34 pm

One or two of my fish are having trouble with the passage.

So Indi advised me to try some frozen peas, which I bought. Now what do i need to do to do them before adding? All i done was peeled the shell of the pea and threw it in the tank still frozen...is that wrong?

Well I would've left it defrost for a few mins. first and then smush it between your fingers before adding it to the tank, GD but they're so small it would probably defrost quickly enough anyway.

At least you shelled it which is the most important bit! I add defrosted, shelled peas to the goldfish tank once a week. Helps to keep 'em "regular".

Oor-er, missus.

Well the main reason to smush 'em up is so that they're in small enough pieces for the fish to nibble on but they'll probably manage ok.

I usually defrost them, peel them and then just throw them in un-mushed. The fish manage fine so I wouldnt worry too much. Very Happy

I find that fish love some nice soft brocolli too - it's a real favourite for mine - just cook it for a bit and then chuck it in

I have found that my fish love mushed up courgette. Just boil it a little bit to soften it, mush it up a little and then put little bits in the tank. the fish really love it.
