PostSubject: sick molly???   Tue Sep 16, 2008 10:52 pm

I doint know if one of my black and white mollys is sick or not. It seems to be breathing rapidly and its fins are going much faster than the other one. It seems to be eating ok, and is swimming round the tank most of the time, then resting in the corner by a plant.

Any ideas what I need to do for it??

Few thing come to mind

Have you tested your water - ammonia, nitrite, nitrate.

What is the temperature of the water?

Has it got any lumps, bumps, spots etc?

It might be worth adding a bit of extra aeration - bubbles or make sure the filter is causing a bit of disturbance to the water surface.

Have you got a spare tank? You could put the fish in there just in case it has anything wrong with it.
