PostSubject: Strange Pods   Sat Oct 04, 2008 11:14 am

I was doing a monthly clean of the goldfish tank today and found several odd looking "pods" for want of a better word. They were the size and shape of a pea, soft to the touch and yellow in colour. I'm assuming the white tufty stuff is some kind of algae but I have NO idea what they could be...dunno

I didn't know whether they were "friend or foe" but I didn't like the look of them so I erred on the side of caution and removed all the ones I could find... Shocked

Ewww!! That is a bit weird isnt it? I dont suppose you have added anything to the tank lately have you, and I think I am right that you have fake plants in that tanks so it cant be from them?

Cant tell the size of them but they couldnt be unfertilised eggs could they? dunno

Far too big to be eggs, I would say Diana. At first glance, I thought they were peas but I always shell and smush those before I put them in - unless they reformed somehow?? Shocked

Aah, so that's the size they are - no they wont be eggs then - not unless you have very shocked looking goldies!

It's weird Mary - cut them open and see what is inside 0 if you have the nerve
