There's something about bristlies isn't there - they are the Charles Bronson of the fishie world. Ugly as Hell, but somehow there's something cute about them Very Happy

What lovely photo's!!!

Mary, your briustlenose doesnt look like the ones I have seen in my local shop. Do they all grow the 'wings' when they are bigger?

No. Mine is a particular type called a Veiltail - a manmade variety which I didn't know about when I got him. He was about 1" long when I got him and only developed the long fins as he matured. I'm not sure if it's really possible to identify this variety when they're juveniles but in my house, he's everyone's favourite fish. JJ (3) calls him the "monster fish". Very Happy

The experts reckon 6" but i've never seen them over 5"
mine are around the 4" mark.

The detail on your BN is fantastic Mike.

I really do likr thos vailtail BN's

Never seen those at my LFS and there is a lot to choose from there.
