What type of plec are you thinking of kbekll?

I have 2 BN's and Panda corys and they are great little fish.

If you are thinking of blue rams, they need to go in an established tank - the Bolivian ram is a bit more hardy than the blues, and would do well in a tank with the both BN's and the pandas too.

I think the gouramis are a peaceful fish aren't they?, but I think they need a lot of planting (not sure on that).

As for the apisto, I know nothing about them at all, so dont know their preferences dunno

You're going to have a bit of fun planning all this Smile

wave
Have you had a look at a shell dweller species tank? Maybe with a couple of plecs - fancy bristlenose (look at L182/3? or ancistrus claro?)

If you want a community how about a Pair of Rams, Rummy Nose Tetras - 10 or so, 6 cories - Panda are lovely and a 'feature' plec, maybe with a trio of non-annual killifish as top dwellers.

IMO 20g is too small for a Blue or Green Phantom - they get to about 8" and are surprisingly bulky for a 'pretty' plec.

There's something about plecs isn't there that just makes you want to take them home! Smile

Cool... I'm starting to look at re-building my plec collection slowly.

Have you seen anything other than plecs that you will be wanting?

Dragon Goby are brackish if I remember right.

Gold Panchax are lovely friendly fish.

You could have Khulis and Corys.

hi tank sounds cool.

Not sure if the apis and the rams will be friends...cockatoos will take the base of the tank and can breed v easily. Rams may interfere with them..but cant say for sure.

Cockatoos are ace!!

chain loaches are great - Ive got 4 and they are really active in the tank. Got worried the other day when I could only see one of them - searched everywhere and couldnt see any sign of the others. Next morning there they all were swimming about together large as life. Still dont know where they were hiding! Smile

well they did a good job of it because I was convinced they had died and was cursing the fact I had been extravagant and spent 8 per fish laughing
